Sydney, NSW –July 15, 2002 — Ms Jane O’Connell – a long-standing employee within the PBL Media group companies Channel Nine and ninemsn – has been appointed to the position of Director of Network Content at Australia’s leading online network, ninemsn.
Ms O’Connell originally joined ninemsn in 2000 as the Executive Producer of News and Current Affairs and implemented a range of forward-thinking changes in the way news and information content are presented on ninemsn.
Prior to joining ninemsn, Jane spent 15 years in commercial television, moving through a variety of journalism and production roles with all of Australia’s commercial television networks, from News Reporter and Chief of Staff (Channel 10) to Producer (Channel 7) and a seven-year stint at the Nine Network culminating in her role as Supervising Producer of A Current Affair (Channel 9) before making the transition from television to online at ninemsn.
In her Directorship role, Ms O’Connell is responsible for ninemsn’s long-term wireless and broadband strategies, exploring commercial opportunities in the mobile and broadband space.
