Why is it called Spam?

The name Spam as it applies to junk e-mail derives from a Monty Python sketch in which the Python team sing "spam, spam, spam, spam" over and over again. The Internet loves a short phrase, and there's something about the Spam song's drumming ceaselessness which captures junk e-mail pretty well.
