Spam purporting to be from HotmailÒ

Hotmail knows how frustrating it is for you to receive such junk e-mails - they get sent thousands of them, and they actively pursue any abuses.
It is extremely unlikely that anyone has ‘hacked’ into your mailbox. What is more likely is that a company or an individual is using a bulk mail programme to forge headers on to the e-mail message. This not only makes the e-mail appear to be authentic - it can also bypass some of the Hotmail filters.
