Review user agreements

When signing up for Web-based services such as online banking, shopping or online newsletters, you should carefully review the user agreement to ensure that your e-mail address will not be shared with other organisations. When filling out forms, look out for the check box which asks of you would (or sometimes would not) like to receive e-mail. Quite often sites have this box checked for you. The key is to read carefully any page which is asking for your contact details.
