|
The new Hotmail has a report junk e-mail button. Not only will you be telling us about spam in your account, but you'll also be training the intelligent filters to identify junk mail in the future.
To report Junk E-Mail in Hotmail:
- Sign in to Hotmail and click on the Mail tab to open your inbox.
- Select an e-mail you suspect to be junk (spam).
Tip - a question mark is placed on all e-mail from unknown senders.
- Click the Junk option and select from either Report or Report and Block Sender, and then simply follow the directions given.

You may also still send junk e-mail direct to abuse@hotmail.com but please do not send attachments as our support agents are unable to open them. An attachment should instead be sent in the main body of the e-mail - open the attachment and then copy and paste the contents. Please give a description of the issue in the subject heading, i.e. "Harassment", "Pornography", "Chain Mail", "Fraud" etc.
To forward mail with the full header field enclosed:
- Open the message, and then click "More" in the upper right corner.
- Click Message Source. The message opens in a new window with all the header information visible.
- Copy all the text and paste it into a new message. Send this message to: abuse@hotmail.com.
- On the unopened e-mail, place your cursor over the mail, right-click, and click Options.
- Under "Internet headers", copy the full content of the header.
- Open the e-mail in question and forward a complete copy of the message, inserting the full message header that you copied , to: abuse@hotmail.com.
