How to delete messages if your Inbox is full

If you are receiving notifications from Hotmail/msn.com that your account is over its size limit, you may need to reduce the number of items you have in additional folders, such as the Sent Items folder.

To delete messages from sub-folders in Hotmail, please follow the steps below:

  1. Go to the Hotmail home page and log in to your account.
  2. Once you are looking at your inbox, on the left-hand side of the screen click the Manage Folders link.
  3. You will be shown how much information is in each of your folders. Should you need to delete some of this information, simply click on the folder that you wish to remove items from and select messages one by one (ticking the box next to each message) before clicking the Delete button.
