HotmailÒ support: forgotten password

There are a number of possible causes of this type of problem.
Please review the information below which may help you to identify and resolve this issue.
Changing your password
If you know what your password is, you can change your password once you have already signed-in.

Please follow the instructions below to reset your password:
1. Go to the .NET Passport website: http://www.passport.com

| 2. Click the Sign in button on the right-hand side of the page. |

| 3. On the Sign In page click the Forgot your password? link. |

4. On the next page you will be asked to type in your e-mail address and the random numbers/letters you see on the screen before you. There should be 6 numbers/letters visible. If you cannot determine what the numbers/letters are, please click the refresh button to change the picture, or click the audio button to hear the characters spoken. Click the Continue button once you have entered these details. |

| 5. You will now be presented with two options to reset your password. Please click the second option, Provide account information and answer your secret question. |

| 6. Please change your country from the default setting of United States to Australia. Once you do this, please wait a moment for the information on the page to refrsh, then answer your secret question, clicking the Continue button to proceed to the next step. |

| 7. Once you have answered your secret question correctly, please type in a new password. Your password will be rated as either Weak, Medium or Strong depending on what characters you use. Re-type your password, then click the Continue button. |

| 8. You should now receive confirmation that your password change has been successful. Please click the Done button to return to the Passport site. |

For security reasons, you should now clear your browser's cache, or temporary files. For instructions on how to do this, please click here and look for the heading "You may have old data in your browser that needs to be deleted". | |
If you would like to reset or change your password and you are able to access your account without any problems, then complete the following steps:
| 1. From within your Hotmail account, click on Options (located on the right-hand side of the page). |

| 2. Click Personal from the menu on the left-hand side of the page. |

| 3. Click Password from the list of options. |

| 4. Type your current password in the Old Password field, then type your new password in the New Password field. Your password will be rated as either Weak, Medium or Strong depending on what characters you use. Re-type your password, then click the Continue button. |

| 5. You should now receive confirmation that your password change has been successful. Please click the Done button to return to your Hotmail account. |
