How to set up Custom Filters

Hotmail also has two types of custom filter, basic and advanced:
To set up Custom Filters for incoming messages:
- Sign in to Hotmail and click Options.
- On the left-hand column, select Mail.
- From the list presented select Custom Filters.
- Click New Filter and decide which of the two types of filter you wish to use (the options 'Advanced Filter' or 'Basic Filter' can be clicked top-right of the central panel onscreen).
- Remove e-mails by keyword, address or subject and have them delivered to a folder of your choice.

If you are being bombarded with a specific e-mail — for example about hair loss — use the filter to send any e-mail containing those words in the header straight into the Trash Can.
